How Knowledgeable Is my Auto Insurance Arizona Agent?

There are a lot of choices out there for insurance these days.  It is one of the most competitive industries out there and it continues to grow.  With all of the choices out there you may wonder who you are dealing with and what type of training is required to be an auto insurance Arizona agent. 

You will be glad to know that in order to become a licensed insurance agent, the agent must undergo extensive training and testing prior to receiving their license.  A minimum score must also be met on a state standardized exam in order to receive an auto insurance Arizona license.  The exam is actually quite difficult and extensive.  More than 50% of the individuals who take this exam will not pass it on the first try.   Many test takers will take several tries to pass the exam.

 Once licensed an individual is now considered to be an auto insurance Arizona producer.  An insurance producer is a person who is required to be licensed to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance.  An insurance producer may be a property and casualty agent or a life and health insurance agent.  Just because an agent is now licensed at this point it doesn’t mean the training is complete.  In fact it is just getting started. 

Once an agent is licensed by the state he or she will then seek employment from an insurance company.  After being hired, the agent will undergo even more training to be sure that they are up to speed.  As in any industry things change and it is important to keep up with the ongoing changes.   As a result all licensed insurance agents are required to complete continuing education courses in order to maintain their license.  If an agent fails to meet the continuing education requirements they will lose their license.  Next time you are shopping for insurance you can be confident, that as long as you are speaking with a licensed agent, you are speaking with an individual who has had extensive training and industry expertise.
